Philosophy

PhD Student in Philosophy at the University of Glasgow

I work in philosophy of mind, philosophy of religion, metaphysics, and phenomenology. In my PhD, I'm exploring objectless spiritual experiences (what I'm calling existential self-transcendent experiences, or ESTEs), and their connection to moods and emotions. My public philosophy intersects at religion and culture in my Substack, Agape Sophia.

The Fine-Tuning Pattern: Why Naturalists Shouldn't Leave Fine-Tuning for Life Unexplained

I argue that following Nina Emery's framework for methodological naturalism gives us good reasons to take the fine-tuning for life seriously. In particular, her Pattern Explanation Principles should lead us to affirm a robust explanation of fine-tuning evidence.
